| Your picture of bus 729 4th Feb 2008 says it's on a route 22. We have a route 20 and 21 but not 22. Difficult to see on picture as it looks as though the blind is faulty. Great pictures though....carry on the good work...I'll give you a wave if I'm driving next time.

| Further to my last message..I notice that it was taken in Feb which was before the route changes for Erleigh (March) so it was probably on a route 12 which no longer exists and has now become the route 21. I hope this information has been helpful.

| Reading Buses had 64 of these vehicles at one point,the last 4 were MK2 examples. The MK2 vehicles are now the only Excels in the Reading Buses fleet. |

| This bus was used alongside other standard vehicles to see how it coped.Reading Buses has a fleet of single door vehicles and had to deter passengers from using the centre exit.Reading did have dual door vehicles at one time but after a spate of accidents the dual door vehicles had the centre exits removed or paneled over! If you look at E913DRD you will see what I mean! The Scania 599 was eventually taken into stock after it secured an order for 12 single door vehicles to a later specification.Scania 599 is away to be converted to the Reading Buses standard layout. |

| D931NDA has now been withdrawn from service and was in store for a time the bus is at the time of typing in a bay at Miller St the engine will shortly ba taken from the bus and the remains of the bus will as is the norm be sold on to the scrap man |

| This bus was new to Meythr Tydfil Travel in 1987 and was their first Lynx.

| Reading Buses have virtually eliminated Optare buses from the fleet,there are some Optare Solos left but the early examples have been sold. The Scania name has become familiar around Reading,The dedicated livery is a help as is the elimination of step entrance buses.The Wright Solar/Scania buses were first into service and the choice of East Lancs for bodywork for the double deckers was a sensible one.Reading Buses certainly are going places!! |

| I find it sad to see how these fine vehicles have been given such poor refurbishments.I know eventually bits have to be replaced but the new style windows are awful! The black window surround at the front does spoil things as does the dayglow mirrors! Aldenham works made things look like new,it's a shame it was closed! |
